Lenovo’s latest report, Achieving Invisible IT, sheds light on how AI and automation are removing digital barriers in the workplace and enhancing the employee experience. This report is part of the ongoing Work Reborn research series, focusing on seamless, proactive IT that supports productivity without disruptions.
According to the survey of IT leaders, 79 percent aim to improve the employee experience by transforming IT support operations. Unfortunately, only 21 percent have successfully implemented predictive and proactive issue resolution. These findings emphasize the need for businesses to simplify their IT ecosystems. Streamlined systems mean faster responses and improved user satisfaction.
Overcome Fragmentation and Complexity
The research reveals key barriers preventing organizations from achieving invisible IT. IT leaders cite complex systems as a primary challenge, with over half acknowledging the impact of fragmented technology. Enterprises manage an average of 897 applications across multiple clouds, but just 28 percent are integrated. This undermines employee experience, creating interruptions and forcing users to switch between applications to get their work done.
Cost constraints and limited AI skills in the IT operations team are identified as major barriers by 47 percent and 43 percent of IT leaders, respectively. Addressing these challenges is the first step toward invisible IT. Introducing predictive and proactive IT support to your clients will give their employees the exact help they need, reduce business disruptions, and keep operations running smoothly. This approach makes IT practically invisible.
